"As an artist, I concentrate
on creating powerful and passionate moments
with the nonhuman primate image, abstractions, and metaphor."
The moment is found in the combination of color, texture, form and image.
The viewer should consider oneself in the alignment of Nature.
We (man and animal) exist in an internal and external world.
Animals have feelings, too.
There is a cerebral difference
between
artist and illustrator.
The contemporary artist in this work chooses to focus on the
primate,
its beauty in form and color and its motion through an environment. Whether
it is a singular primate or a group, Tiso clearly defines facial and body
expression as part of the statement. By controlling color in a particular
way, she creates an unusual atmosphere. This work makes you conscious of
a kindred spirit .
The illustrator in this work uses a distinct line quality to depict
the form of over 200 species of nonhuman primates. The quality of
illustrator
is found specifically in her drawing and lithography. The illustrations are
fresh, captivating, and vital.
